Chimpanzee hoses down bear cubs
A video of genius chimpanzee Pan-kun learning how to hose down bear cubs at his zoo (English subs are provided to explain what is going on):
It was a pretty risky challenge. If something had gone wrong, it might have ended up like the terribly cruel “Animal Farm” program that Brian in Jeollanam-do recently blogged about.

Teaching a chimpanzee how to attack humans
Last nights episode of “Shimura Zoo” featured a segment in which genius chimpanzee was taught how to fire water guns at human faces:
Near the end of the clip, Ken Shimura urges him to attack some dummies. Pan-kun really seems to enjoy pouncing on them and punching them.

Skateboarding Chimpanzee
On last night’s episode of “Shimura Zoo,” genius chimpanzee Pan-kun learned how to skateboard:
Even with all that protective gear on, it’s not hard to imagine that it may have been quite painful for him to tumble on the concrete. Still, he persevered and managed to learn some basic skateboarding.
Not bad, but not nearly as cool as when he learned how to drive a Segway.

Chimpanzee learns how to recycle
As part of NTV’s “eco week” gimmick, chimpanzee pan-kun was taught how to properly dispose of a plastic bottle*:
Trash disposal rules differ greatly by locality in Japan, so not all places require you to throw away plastic bottles, bottle labels, and caps in the way shown in the clip.

Pan-kun Calendar – Part 1
Time for some Shimura Zoo video clips of celebrity chimpanzee Pan-kun!
A few weeks ago, Pan-kun teamed up with comedian Tomomitsu Yamaguchi (Gussan) to create an official 2008 Pan-kun Calendar. The first section aired consisted of three months, and I have posted the photoshoot videos images of the calendar below.
