Joseph Tame, Running Nike Advertisement

Joseph Tame, a Tokyo-based blogger who has become pretty famous online for his wacky live broadcasts of marathon running, is now doing a special promotion for Nike Japan. Here’s the intro video:

“Basically, for every Facebook Like I get, I have to run 100m… it could get pretty silly, if it’s not silly enough already.”

You can force him to run an extra 100 meters by visiting this Facebook page.

Hi Ponta -
Actually Joseph Tame is quite the opposite of studio or cm stooges put on display.
He’s 100% self-made hard worker who has carved out his own niche market and is well resppected for it and his enterprise.
He’s clever to boot and he’s very apt at taking the micky out of himself and situations – iiiinehhh – which all in all provides a rather refreshing bout of jocularity with a dash of slapstich.
And I’m still wondering where this White country is? I know Japanese people live in Japan and French people live in France, but the White People – is it north of Reykjivik? (lol)

I don’t think he is silly. He just looks friendly to me.
I am pointing out there are some white guys whose job they say is to protect gaijin’s right, nitpicking about what other gajikokujins are doing, blaming for being “apologetic”, “sheepish”, “clownish”, etc.

I think Ponta is being sarcastic. He’s referring to a 2009 protest by a fast food company against a Hokkaido-based parody of a “hapless foreigner who’ll never fit in” that was published in the Japan Times. At least, I think it was that way round.
