Frozen Foam Beer
A news report and a video advertisement for Kirin’s new beer with frozen foam:
It is called Ichiban Shibori Frozen Nama (一番搾りフローズン<生>) It appears that they use a machine to add frozen beer bubbles on top of normal Kirin Ichiban beer. The bubbles are very cold: -5 degrees Celsius. They claim that the frozen layer can keep the beer below it cold for about half an hour. Sounds like a fantastic way to keep beer cold during the super hot winter months!
It is available in the Tokyo area as part of a trial run. Kirin plans to sell it across the country starting in May.
