Message From Tohoku: We Will Always Remember You

Thank you for your e-mail and your concern. It was out of memorial to those affected by the Tohoku Earthquake and tsunami, and with the most heartfelt appreciation of the hard work of all the individuals involved in the relief and recovery efforts that the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York, Inc. (JCCI) had this “Arigatou” video produced. Our production team advised JCCI that authorization was granted by individuals and organizations providing much of the footage, with the specification that this film was only to be shown publicly at JCCI’s 27th Annual Dinner on November 15, 2011 in New York. JCCI indeed holds copyright to this video, and neither JCCI nor any other individual/organization has authorization to publish or distribute this video. We understand it is a touching tribute, and we wish we could share it with the world. However, at this point in time, we have not been able to gain the authorization from certain individuals and organizations to do so. With the video illegally uploaded on YouTube, JCCI (and others) faced numerous legal issues that outweighed the positive aspects of the video’s publication.I’m terribly sorry for any distraught the copyright claim we were forced to submit may have caused you. I hope you realize the goodwill behind the creation of this video, and understand that we are working on obtaining proper authorizations. Should it become possible to do so in the future, we will certainly upload the video and notify you at once.To be clear, whoever uploaded this video (illegally) cut off the beginning and end in order to remove all credits of JCCI’s affiliation. We are still working on finding the source of the leak.
