Ferrari & Lamborghini Pile-up

A video shows the aftermath of a pile-up involving 14 luxury sports cars:

The accident took place near Shimonoseki in Yamaguchi prefecture. The cars involved included: 8 Ferrari s, 1 Laborghinis, 3 Mercedes Benzes, and 2 Toyotas. The vehicles were apparently speeding down a road at around 150 km/hr when the driver of one Ferrari lost control and collided with a guard rail.

As you can see from the video, some very expensive vehicles were totaled. Ten drivers were taken to the hospital, but none suffered serious injuries.

There was only one Toyota in the mess….oddly enough, a Prius.

From what I can see and from elsewhere, I can see F355s, F430s (including a Scuderia), an F360, and some form of F512 for the prancing horse marquee. I also see a Lamborghini Diablo (white car).

Pretty sure the white car in the (second) video was a Ferrari Testarossa.

It did say the cars involved were part of some Ferrari club. I bet what happened was the Ferraris blew by the Prius then the driver stepped on the gas because he wanted to be part of the “fun”.

The Lamborghini in the group is probably like the guy that brings a Be or a NeXT computer to a classic Mac enthusiast club.

Only 150kmh? People drive their SUVs and kei cars down the highway at those speeds without piling up. 150 is barely scratching the surface of what a ferrari or lambo is capable of. These idiots were definitely driving more car than they knew how to handle. No sympathy for any of them.

People who are saying that they were “driving more cars than they could handle”…do you really think you could do better? I mean they were driving alongside each other taking up both lanes in pairs, all it took was one guy to lose control while trying to make a 90mph pass on a Prius and it was all over for the people behind him. It was just a case of bad judgement on the part of these old folks. No big loss they were all common cars by supercar standards except for the Scuderia, which is on the low end of rarity.

Millions of people drive cars at highway speeds in close proximity with other drivers on a daily basis without wiping out, so it’s quite possible to do. If you choose to drive a car that’s more powerful than you’re used to controlling, at speeds greater than you’re used to driving, and you crash just because one guy up ahead tries to pass another car, then yes you were driving more can than you can handle.

U know sucks that they got into an accident but I just love to see all the ppl talking crap “oh that was dumb, oh why, oh speeding omg” like u never drove ur car faster that you suppost to at one point in your life, yes it was a mistake but seriously ppl if you have a ferrari, or lambo are you gonna tell me that you are not gonna hit that gas ones in awhile when you get the chance? right I see all of you drving your lambo on the highway at 55mph … right…. it happens that is what life is all about mistakes and stupidy glad nobody got hurt though.
