Video: Tsunami Destroys City

I heard that in more ancient Japanese times people in these Northern areas lived higher up on the hills because of their memories of terrible tsunamis that had hit before. But as the younger generations memories waned it became too inconvenient to go all the way down to the sea to go out fishing. So they started settling closer and closer to the ocean. When these areas are rebuilt in the future the towns should be built farther up the hillsides. These days motorcycles are pretty cheap so the fisherman could get to their various harbors by motorcycle or other modern transportation. The devastated areas should be just future farmland and seaside park and recreation areas. With even more Mega phones than ever that tell you to get the hell out of dodge when any type of earth tremors appear. These days people are actually quite lucky because if a Tsunami is coming far away from Chile they can get warning 5-6 hours in advance. Unfortunately in this latest earthquake they only had 15-30 minutes to evacuate. These tsunami’s will hit again, when is the question. They will also hit areas like Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, and every other Western seaside city, too. It’s always not a question of if but when. Historical evidence can prove this without a doubt. When a 1000 to 2000 mega tsunami hits in the future it won’t even matter if you are on a hill side or even a few hundred kilometers from the ocean. You’d better be on top of Mt. Fuji.
