The Greatest Perfume Fan in the World

Allow me to post about my appreciation for one of the newest YouTube celebrities on the net, Frank Evins (Perfume444). Frank is a diehard fan of the Japanese pop group Perfume, and his bizarre January 12th video birthday message to Kashiyuka (Yuka Kashino) has become an internet sensation:

I have been to Japan in 2003 and 2005.. I play Drums so did 2 small tours in Japan. I LOVE JAPAN !!!! I miss it so much. The Japanese People are so kind and wonderful. I really feel like my soul is Japanese. About Perfume… I got into Perfume in early 2006. I was looking for Japan stuff on youtube, all kinds of music from Japan and I found Perfume. The song Akihabalove was the first one I heard. I fell in love with that song and the girls. I watched the beehive cam on youtube and watched them grow up. So my love for them is like a father daughter love. Not sex because they were so young at the time. Even now I still see them as big kids, NOT sex objects. Anyway…about the Music… I was hooked, It was so different then anything I heard before. my all time favorite song is Seventh heaven…It all ways makes me cry. I also love Secret Secret , Foundation, computer city, Macaroni, Edge , ” jenny in a bad mood ” wonder 2, Polyrhythm,Baby cruising love , Vitamin Drop, yes Its heard to pick just one song. A-Chan is my favorite. If I was 20 yrs old I would want to marry her. But Im not ! Im 55 yrs old. But perfume music makes me feel happy and young I wish I could find some one like A-Chan. She is the most beautiful person I have ever seen. her heart and sole are heaven ! The person that marries her will be the luckiest person on earth.

As he video spread around the internet, Frank attracted a lot of trolls who left comments mocking and insulting him. In response, he posted a video announcing that he would stop vlogging on YouTube. However, an outpouring of support from fans convinced him to stick with it:

After a tearful message of gratitude, he is now back to making cheerful videos expressing his love for Perfume:

Good for him for having a hobby, he’s not really any more creepy than the old ladies who buy cardboard cutouts of Yon-sama to put in their bedrooms. I have a coworker that does much creepier shit than this over Hakuho, including staking out where she thinks he lives. At least this guy has an ocean in between himself and the objects of his affections.

More likely “luckily for Perfume this guy has an ocean between himself and the objects of his obsessions”.

Or if they’re already making Perfume figurines it may be “objects of his insertions”.

I have to say this guy is awesome. Why does someone have to fit into a certain demographic to be a fan of something? Not only that, but he likes something so much to make videos about said admiration.

Then again, I might just be a lil biased since Perfume is my most favorite Japanese group. :>

There isn’t really anything wrong with this guy liking Perfume, in my opinion, especially since I’ve heard of stranger things, but, uh… he denies his “sexual interest” in A-chan a bit too much, while at the same time saying things creepy stalkers would say.

Honestly, I think he must have some kind of mental condition. I’m not trying to be insulting or anything, but there’s a lot of stuff about his speech and mannerisms that’s a little… off.
But yeah, go ahead and like Perfume, there are weirder people out there with obsessions far stranger than this.

This guy is not mentally stable….and no, he is not like all the female teenage Perfume fans, because they don’t imagine themselves feeding bon bons to the girls and kissing them and dancing with them, telling them that they are in love with them in a romantic way. Also, the reason he keeps making those smacking sounds is because psych meds make his mouth dry. In his other video he said Perfume helps prevent him from killing himself. He’s not right mentally.

He has now removed the video where he said Perfume helped keep him from killing himself. That was not acting. That was a video message he gave to his fans after this one where he was crying because of the response this one got. Not the signs of a jokester/actor just having fun.

Okay, it’s still up….but, if he was really just doing that as a joke and meant to seem creepy for fun….then his response is not consistent with that. A guy who makes that type of video for fun expects that type of response from Youtube and laughs it off. But he didn’t. He cried and said that Perfume helped keep him from killing himself. That is not the sign of mental stability. He needs help. And I think he might also have Asperger’s Syndrome.
