Chinese Theme Park Builds Copy of Japanese Gundam

Yep – I work in a job where we deal with companies that make model cars, planes etc. They do all the CAD drafting and send the data to China for tooling. When they get the prototype model back for approval, something will have changed – round shapes become oval, the shape of the front end of the car has been altered, something. When these companies say “We hired you to make a replica of an existing (car, plane, etc) and sent you all the CAD data to do that – why did you change things?” They get told “well, we thought it looked better this way”.

Even if you pay them good money and do all the research for them to produce an exact replica of something, they will f*** it up.

I shudder to think what they would do when trying to copy a real aircraft if they, say, change the wing design as “it looks better this way”. And then blame the original (non-Chinese) designers when the planes fall out of the sky due to horrible stall characteristics imparted by the “cooler-looking” wing design.
