Dirty Hippy Clowns Protest Against U.S. Base

While surfing YouTube last night, I came across a video that was filmed at a protest march held in Tokyo last Sunday. It’s got some filthy-looking hippy clowns in it, and they’re dancing around and doing clown stuff:

The protest was calling for U.S. Marine Corps Air Station Futenma to be relocated to somewhere outside of Okinawa. The video says about 160 people participated, which would make it a very small protest by Tokyo standards. Either the event was poorly organized, or few people in Tokyo care about the Futenma issue.

The clown army in the video could be the Clandestine Insurgent Rebel Clown Army, or they could be another group of foreign hippies that like to dress up like clowns and attend leftist demonstrations.

I don’t see a single line of this post that expresses a view one way or another about the presence of U.S. bases in Japan.

I point out the two notable things about the protest: the presence of dirty hippy clowns, and its small size.

If you don’t like the fact that I’m referring to the Clown Army as hippy clowns of a dirty variety, I suggest that you get them to wear cleaner-looking clothing and possibly wash their hair. If they weren’t wearing clown noses, I might have mistaken them for homeless people.

I totally agree, i can’t imagine the US forcefully having a base in my country. I understand that its for “strategic” reasons but why havent they removed themselves even partially after this long?Im interested to see what people think about this without wanting to start a flame war
