“Bamboo Samurai” Bicyclist Hit By SUV

I’m from around there. I lived and grew up in the countryside, and learned to drive there. It has nothing to do with education, and everything to do with how you CHOOSE to drive.

I drive incredibly well, despite the fact that everyone tells me “you drive like a grandmother”. I never go more than 5 mph over the limit. I don’t talk on the phone while driving. I won’t even let other people talk on cell phones in my car if it’s too distracting.

The fact that she was driving an SUV should be the first clue she’s a moron. With gasoline at $3/gallon or so now, why would you ever drive a vehicle that gets less than 20 miles/gallon?

Secondly, I would not be surprised to hear that she was on the phone/texting/posting to Facebook from her phone while driving. It is shocking and appalling how many people I see on a daily basis driving down the road with their cell phone at 12-o-clock on the wheel punching the keys.

Absolutely ridiculous. I hope she gets jailtime, even if he wasn’t seriously hurt.

I always though “middle age” started around 40-45 not 35. Thanks for making me feel old.

Maybe, just maybe his loaded up touring bike swerved at the inopportune time for 1 second and he was spooked by the passing car.
