US Marine Faces Sexual Assault Charge

A US Marine has been arrested in Okinawa after he allegedly broke into an apartment and assaulted a woman:

The 28-year-old man attacked the woman, in her 20s, when she returned to her apartment at around 3.50am, reports said. He pushed her into a room, covered her mouth with his hand and fondled her body as she struggled to escape, media said.

A neighbour called the police and the man was arrested 15 minutes later as he tried to flee, reports said. The man had denied charges, reports said, adding that the suspect and victim had never met before the alleged attack.

Japanese police are recommending that the man be charged with sexual assault.

Japan should say to USA “go home noobs” and build their own army, it would give more jobs to Japanese people and well, with DPRK and China near Japan I think that Japan realy needs a strong army and I don’t think that USA soldiers would sacrifice themselves to defend Japan if it was needed…

The bases on Japanese soil were built as part of the occupation of Japan and used to maintain a quick strike capability against the Soviet Union during the Cold War. The US government is not going to relinquish an advance base easily.

One reason being is that that look at fault as not being the individual, but the fault the group. It stems from their interdependent culture So, you’d find this happening in places like the work place or even in the school system( This is part of the problem when it comes to school bullying, because if a student gets in trouble then so does too the class). Also,Men and Women at arms are supposed to represent the best of the US. Our govt, often fails to instill teach marines,etc the laws in Japan or to respect them. Trust me, I was sent there for 2 yrs.

Well through experience I can tell you that the cops in Japan will probably do nothing. When I informed them over a month ago that a former colleague(30+) confessed to me he had sex with a 15 year old student they told me they couldn’t do anything! Now that prick (Marco) is walking around free and actually started teaching at a kindergarten (after being fired at the school in question) so what we have to do here in Japan is waiting for a girl (minor) to press charges before anything can be done. In my opinion the cops should have picked him up grilled him until he confessed like he did to me! ‘So Marco you like to dip your dick into little 15 year olds???’ His response… ‘No man she was 16!’ These guys are sexual predators and need to be locked up! I hope he doesn’t have a taste for really young girls cause it would be a shame if something happens to a 4 or 5 year old!!! If it does trust me it will be in Niigata where this asshole prick can walk around freely because the cops refuse to do anything!!! Marco one day your time will come!!!!

Laws prohibiting consensual sex are rather complicated in Japan.

Buying sex or having sex in return for any kind of consideration with a person under 18 is a crime. (Act on Punishment of Activities Relating to Child Prostitution and Child Pornography, and the Protection of Children, article 4)

If a person is in an influential position over a person under 18, such as a parent, a guardian, a school teacher, a coach, a religious leader, and so on, having sex with such person under 18 under influence is a crime. (Child Welfare Act, article 34)

Having frivolous sex with a person under 18 is a crime. (Prefecture Ordinance of almost every prefecture)

Having sex with a person under 13 is a crime. (Criminal Code article 177)

Some people say age of consent in Japan is 13, looking only at the Criminal Code.
Any unconsensual sex is of course a crime.

After a crime every couple months from US military, I really can’t blame the Japanese who are against the bases.

Actually JSDF and Japanese school teachers do some similar things as often as US Forces do, or even more often. Scum exist in every society, so the point is not about the fact that they commit some crime, but how equally we can judge those criminals, whether they belong to the bases or not.

Seriously explain it to me, you can’t automatically assume that Navy personnel A. is gonna go rape when it could be Personnel B. and frankly have you seen the shit that Japanese manga artist DRAW and READ? Not everyone turns into a pervert or molester or rapist.
