A Chinese Family That Loves Japanese Stuff

An NTV reporter visits an apartment in Shanghai where every appliance to have been made in Japan:

The family that lives there says they buy Japanese products because they trust the quality of the brands.

Their daughter also really seems to like Japanese stuff. Her mobile phone ringtone is from an Arashi song and she’s got posters of the boy band all over the wall. The narrator says that the spread of the internet has caused an increase in the number of Chinese people who like Japanese pop music.

It reminds me of those videos with Chinese tourists going on shopping sprees in Japan as they seem to trust the quality of Japanese goods more than others.

So for those that incessantly complain that only negative articles are posted about Chinese/Korean/etc. etc., enjoy this video.

How exactly is this news-worthy? How ignorant would one have to be to not know Japanese consumer electronics’ immense global popularity? What’s the next “news” they’re gonna report? That many Chinese play Japanese video games, watch Korean dramas, use Microsoft Windows and on top of that they’re also bipedal?

Is this really newsworthy?

I mean, I live in America, and most of my appliances are Japanese. My TVs are Sony and Panasonic( I think). I even have two Toyotas and a Honda. Japanese brands are well known throughout the world? Isn’t that why it’s so strong economically? I can’t even think of any Chinese brands(ok. maybe a few computer brands (might be Taiwan, actually), but outside of that, nothing)

This sort of makes sense.

Given the quality and standards of products designed and manufactured in China, in general, I would probably pick the nearest high-quality manufacturing country too.

Remember that China is the country where many manufacturers just produce copies of mainstream US/Foreign products from stolen plans at a tenth the cost using inferior parts and methods while the gov’t looks the other way.

there is a large Chinese province where 46.2 percent of the residents indicated in a 2003 survey that they wished Japan hadn’t lost the war. (not going to mention the province’s name, but I think most people know which one it is)

despite the negative rhetoric (the Chinese really do hate Japanese) Chinese love Japanese products and pop culture. Don’t worry Japan Chinese business, and thus Chinese money won’t stop flowing to Japan.
