Badass Japanese Hermit

This 68-year-old man is a former karate champion who decided to give up normal life 16 years ago and become a hermit. Here is a TV show visiting his dojo in the hills of Aichi prefecture, where he practices martial arts:
As you can see, he is a very modern hermit who has his own mobile phone. His homepage also seems to show that he occasionally accesses the internet to check his hotmail account and leave site updates.

He definitely isn’t an hermit, or else he wouldn’t read the newspaper.. Accessing the net is fine though, most modern age hermits do that, they call them hikikomori lol

This is no ordinary hermit though, he’s a manly, mountain hermit.

Rofl, if hikikomori are hermits then I’m a hermit too. Somehow that sounds a lot of cooler.
