Video: Baby Monkey Plays With Tiger Cubs

“Shimura Zoo” puts some adorable tiger cubs together with a baby Japanese macaque and discover that they will play together:

When other TV shows have tried similar experiments with other species of animals, it has resulted in pretty messed-up situations that could easily be considered animal cruelty. However, the monkey and tigers in this case seemed to be getting along rather well.

Even monkey plays with tiger. Why doesn’t Yankee play with Al-Qaeda?

I don’t think this is unusual. Animals (when they are fully fed) won’t kill prey. The exceptions are usually the animals who we consider “smart” that display cruelty. Have you ever seen the BBC documentary where the a pod of Orca whales are throwing a seal around for fun? They continue to do it even after the seal dies.

Those tigers are far from big enough to kill or eat the monkeys.

At this point they’re probably still on very soft foods, if not something like a milk or formula.
