Peter Bethune is ‘downright ungrateful’

Such Terror!!!

Misfit, Flophead, Wally, Ignoramus or whatever other expression one may deem suitable for Mr. Bethune – but to wheel out the old “terroist” cart for the umpteenth time shows a real lacking.

And I don’t care how the shorter oxford, or wiki et al defines terroist, because when we see the real suffering of peoples of the world at the hands of terrorists – the bombed, gutted, displaced, helpless ones – whose wretched lives are in constant fear and TERROR, it’s not to difficult to imagine the comfort zones of the arm-chair critics crying terrorist.

The Japanese ppl should know that It is a useless thing to put mercy on them .

After reading this article, I can certainly agree with some of the comments that have been made. For him to take something so extreme (as the whole Sea Shepard party)not only was a bad move on his behalf, but also was a bad move to be so disgraceful in what the article has stated.

However, probably not the most popular comment in here, I am one of those people that does believe what the Japanese are doing in this sense (commercial whaling) is wrong. Now I am sure that most people in here could give a rat’s ass in what happens with the whales or whatever else nature has to offer, but I think that if there is an international ban on commercial whaling, it should be respected. And I believe that from a standpoint of when something isn’t being respected or we just continue to just “ignore” it, I think that some people will continue to take matters in their own hands. And as I said, certainly bonehead move on Bethune’s behalf, but it certainly drew some attention, whether is was positive or negative.

Of course, people may say that the ICR is all about whale research (I certainly don’t know), but to me, it just raises a red flag that they have a quota to meet. How many freakin’ whales do you need to gather for research? I know, this is a whole another story….but I can certainly understand the mission the SS shares….just don’t quite gather the madness of Bethune.

Pete Bethune took a stand and for that I find it admirable. He stood up for his beliefs, regardless of where they may fall on the spectrum of common sense. He did it in a manner which took courage and it would not have been an act that many would have followed by many due to the extreme fright it may cause. I do not care what you think of his beliefs but Peter Bethune is a hero. The definition of courage, “being afraid of doing something but doing it any way.”

Teddy Roosevelt may have said it best:
