OMG It’s Ichiro!!!

wow… that girl looks like she’d be willing to bear Ichiro’s children!

Unfortunately, I don’t think she realizes that Ichiro’s is happily married.(supposedly)

confirmed. just went back and checked on my TiVo. NHK had a story from a month ago. Ichiro and his wife are happy together, according to the anchorwoman.

by the way, that video on youtube will be probably be removed because it’s clearly a copyright violation. MLB does not ever allow videos to be posted online without written authorization, even on 5-second video clips.

Even NHK got sued for “accidentally” using a 4-second video clip showing Ichiro last summer.

In the US they have no legal say because a 5-second clip falls under the Fair Use clause of copyright law. It would be a circus of lawyers if they try to remove a 5-second clip for copyright.

This is especially true if it’s already a secondary rebroadcast as this is. The clip is from SportsCenter or some news program, not the actual airing of the game.

Fair use is great and all, if you have the lawyers to defend it. It’s a defense, not a right in the US. Don’t get me wrong–I wish things were “fairer,” and people were free to use clips like this without any fear of lawsuit. But you have to understand that the legal repercussions of insisting on fair use can mean you have to devote many thousands, hundreds of thousands, or millions in lawyers fees to receive a court adjudication of fair use.

Specifically: For YouTube, the clip uploader can claim it’s fair use using a standard form and get the video reposted within 10 days. Kudos to YouTube for having that option. However, the copyright claimant then has the option of filing suit over the dispute, and they can then the uploader must either defend it in court (definitely paying money), settle (possibly paying money) and remove it, or get an adverse judgment (possibly paying money) and remove it. None of those are realistic options for a 4 second clip. The MLB knows this, as does every other large copyright holder, and will flex their muscles accordingly.

if it had been an away game, Ichiro was probably goint to get some ACIWP, or even AGWGP actions! Unfortunately the game was in Seattle, which means Ichiro could only go home and PWHS, or at the very best, DWHOLWTOHGIS….
