Michael Jackson Returns to Tokyo Disneyland

Michael Jackson’s 3D attraction “Captain EO” has been revived after 14 years, so Disney can profit from the renewed interest people are showing in the dead pop star:

Captain EO was filmed in 1986, under director Francis Ford Coppola and executive producer George Lucas. The attraction originally played in Tokyo Disneyland from March 20, 1987 to September 1, 1996, and reopened after a 14-year hiatus on July 1st. Reports state that beyond the addition of a few special effects, the film is unchanged from its previous run.

Disney describes the short film’s story as, “Captain EO (played by Michael Jackson) and his crew find themselves on a dark planet devoid of color. To bring the color back, Captain EO and his friends use the power of their music and dance to fight against the Supreme Leader and her minions.”

It also opened again at Walt Disney World’s Epcot Center after a long hiatus as well.

And apparently the film may not have changed, but the pre-movie has and it’s really, really boring.

I loved watching Captain EO at Epcot when I was a kid. I’m 25 now, I’m definitely going to see it if they’ve brought it back!

Captain EO been up for over a year in Anaheim Disneyland now replacing the Honey I Shrunk The Audience. I’ve never seen it, but my sisters and cousins told me it was boring =P.

Aren’t people tired of hearing about him. As if he cured cancer/Aids, created renewable energy and gave birth to every man,woman and child. He was an entertainer and NOTHING more. We should honor true heroes (from any nation) in this manner.

Excuse me “Tired”, Michael has done a lot for the world besides just being an entertainer. His message has been about love, and healing the world his whole life, and he’s certainly contributed to that. He’s donated his time, money and soul to charity work across the board. He’s saved and helped so many starving, disabled and dieing children with cancer. His personality was miraculously benevolent, gentle and caring. He means so much more to the world and his fans than just being an entertainer. But it’s also because he *was* this amazing entertainer, that he was able to touch so many diverse people across the world. It’s something that’s never going to happen again, it’s something that deserves to be honored forever.
