The fellow who’s with Tommy Lee Jones on the commercial is japanese actor Gorou Ibuki, who made several jidaigeki movies and recently had a part on the japanese Super Sentai serie Samurai Sentai Shinkenger as a mentor of the team.

I truly belive that farmers are people that are free, you know, they don’t pay taxes, get stuck in traffic and they live a careless being one with the nature….
Anyway, that’s a nice analogy in the commercial and do you guys know why Tom is doing this cmz? it’s been a while for now… guess the pay is good =D

It must be such a nice life … if the food grows all by itself.
Farming is intensive, dirty physical labor, you get no days off, and your entire source of income is at the mercy of weather and other forces of nature. Not exactly the “slow life” image that seems to be prevalent among the city-slickers.

This is probably the best series of TV commercials ever. The best one I’ve seen in this series is when TL Jones works first as a spear-throwing caveman, then as a worker building the Great Wall of China, then as a worker building the pyramids of Egypt and finally as a construction worker in modern Tokyo.
