Japan’s Aging Dog Population

Everybody knows about Japan’s aging human population, but what about its dogs? According to this news report, the percentage of pet dogs in Japan over the age of 10 has been increasing in recent years:

Shown in the video is a company in Tokyo that specializes in rehabilitation and care for elderly dogs. Also included are some products for aging dogs, such as harnesses to help them walk. The clip ends with a class on dog tooth care, which is aimed at helping dogs maintain strong and healthy teeth as they age.

I have no problem with people spending money to take care of their old dogs.

On the other hand, there are millions of children starving every single day around the
world. If the Japanese(or people of any other country) can afford to spend USD$30 to USD$80
per day for the dog, why can’t they spare USD$10 for starving kids? The amount of money
they spend for one day is enough to feed 25 starving children in Africa and Asia.

Humans should look out for other humans first.

Japan is already one of the greatest foreign aid provider. Also, most people consider their pets to be part of the family, and family is usually more important than some stranger that you will never meet or know.

Most of these people starve because they are governed by criminals, morons, etc, aid won’t change that.

so-called rouken kaigo．
most of dogs guardian do it oneself．
I have a bit of experience．

And that’s unique.maybe..
for example in china,they will eat them．
and in America, a bedridden dogs are killed quickly by persons with benevolent eyes．
and,one week later,they will buy another dog as if nothing happened．
Which one would you prefer?．．
