Dolphin Allowed to Leave Aquarium in Kagoshima

“Nanikore” shows us how the Kagoshima Aquarium that lets its dolphins swim out of their tanks and into a waterway outside of the aquarium building:

The aquarium does this about 5 or 6 times a month. They do it because they think the dolphins might enjoy swimming in a larger body of water.

That’s nice that these dolphins get to swim freely in bigger areas once a week. They probably enjoy the room. I have a feeling though that this won’t be enough to appease those fanatics lie PETA though.

So I guess this is an admission by those in charge, that the dolphins regular confined habitat is inadequate in providing the best caring environment.

Where I live, last year the local “aquarium’s” dolphin pool, home to 2, was rebuilt increasing it’s length greatly from 6 metres to 12 metres. WOW!

Now with all that extra space – more tricks can be squeezed out of the lucky 2.

Dolphins DO NOT belong in concrete / glass tanks to be ogled by the “kawaii set” here or anywhere.
