Japanese commercial — Intel = Tuna

A Japanese commercial for Intel has a couple talking about how their son wants a tuna because every other kid has one. The father decides to give his tuna to the son and buy a new tuna for himself:

Intel wants customers to treat Intel computers like the family in the commercial treats their tuna. [consume! consume! consume!]

Does a joke have to be funny no. It’s a fucking commercial, like any of them make sense anymore. Seriously why would you even see that value in this commercial, go watch sesame street

Agreed. People might say “It’s funny!” but what it boils down to is, buy new computers because all your kid’s friends have them. Doesn’t seem a very concrete reason to buy to me! It’s not even succumbing to personal peer pressure…

A Japanese member of the intel press office says that tuna is selected only because it attracts much attention now and the CM does not intend to put a word in the issue of the Washington convention. The James’s interpretation is interesting and I cannot help feeling a little bit cynicism, but that seems to be an overinterpretation.

I’m guessing this is Intel’s way of telling the public that they are soon to go bankrupt. “Better hurry and buy as much as you can before we disappear!”
