They have this pizza (actually 3 of them, different toppings) at a fusion Japanese restaurant called “Tokyo Table” in Irvine, California. It’s pretty popular there.

Sushi pizza sounds disgusting, but then so is the pizza with corn which you get everywhere in Japan.

I’m sorry to say this,

but,

sushi pizza is about as futile as a lesbian jockstrap.

on the other hand, I do enjoy curry rice with a good helping
of cheese on top. (which some Japanese restaurants do)

Uncle Ben’s keeps trying to make rice-crust pizza recipes. In the 80′s they had a recipe with a rice/Parmesan crust and topped with hot dogs and stuff like that.
Now they have a brown rice recipe topped with veggies.

There’s a place here in Sasebo, their “Pizza American” is just a standard pizza, but has a large serving of fries on top. I haven’t tried it. Thought that was kinda funny

Iron Chef Morimoto had a version of sushi pizza, but it was actually served on a tortilla type layer, not the rice layer shown on this video. It actually sounds pretty cool and tasty, wonder if he’s the first to do this.
