Bear reads newspaper to find out about global warming

The latest in a series of commercials for Nisshinbo follows up its “we shave bears to help them deal with global warming” with a new episode:

Now the bear is crying as he reads a newspaper article about polar bears.

Wrong. Estimates in the 1950s and 60s were based solely on accounts from explorers and seal trappers. Rigorous population studies of the bears didn’t begin until the 1980s. Since then, 1 of the 19 identified population groups have increased slightly, while most others have decreased.

when I was growing up, there were black bears that came to
raid the trash bins…. making a total mess which I had to
clea nup. (AFTER the bears left, of course)

here’s what I’m thinking… what if a little kid saw the
videos about shaving bears to keep them cool during global
warming? kids do silly things and if one happen to really
go out and shave the bears, well, you can guess the rest.

on the other hand, it should be noted that not all the
respected scientists support the global warming theory.

personally, I don’t buy the global warming theory. The rise
and fall of the earth’s temperatures cannot be attributed to
human activities.(at least when you’re considering the history
of the planet’s climate on a ten-thousand or even million year
scale)

HOWEVER, there’s absolutely no denying that humans are
polluting the planet on a huge scale. Sure, Earth is
a pretty big planet, but it can be looked at like a
huge fishbow. Even you have have just one goldfish in
the bow, it eventually gets so dirty that you’ll have
to clean the bowl. Unfortunately, it’s not possible
to clean Earth that easily.
