McDonald’s New York Burger

February 4th, 2010 by James

Coming tomorrow to McDonald’s restaurants across Japan, it’s the New York Burger:

The limited time run of the Texas Burger has come to an end. The New York Burger will be a quarter pounder topped with bacon, tomato, Monterey Jack cheese and mustard sauce on a special bun.

are you kidding me? that thing looks so small…
at 1/4 pound, it’s barely enough.

not to mention the fact that MOS Burger tastes
so much better than McDonald’s! :)

You mean “in your opinion” MOS is OK(in my opinion) but it can’t stack up against mega giants like BK, Carl’s Jr./Hardee’s, In n’ Out, Wendy’s just to name a few. For me, MOS is too expensive overpriced and doesn’t completely satisfy that nasty craving so many of us get at that certain time and place.

I do agree with BK has the best burger…

even better than MOS Burger. Unfortunately,
my nearest BK is almost 100 kilometers away. :(

So I have to settle for the next best thing,
MOS Burger.

Why the F do you put this promotional crap on your blog? Do you get free ketchup from McDonald`s everytime you mention them?

Yeah, I get a free shaka shaka chicken for every 1,000 people who read this post.

But seriously. The vast majority of this blog’s readers are not located in Japan, so it’s not like I’m helping McDonald’s sell anything. I post about this because it is a weird commercial and many people, myself included, find these “American” burgers to be amusing.

Make a report if they make a Canadian burger!

Hopefully it ll feature real bacon. Instead of fried ham!!!

It’s not a Canadian burger without peameal bacon and maple syrup sauce.

With poutine on the side instead of fries.

As with the Texas burger, it looks tastier than most of the normal crap on McD’s menu.

to be honeset, I think my own burgers are the best.
I start with 21-day dry-aged beef with generous amount
of fat content. Grilled over real charcoal fire,
only as far as medium-rare(only when the beef is
exceptionally good).

I love burgers… I go out of my way to find good tasting burgers here in Japan!!no matter how pricy it can be.

So far the best ones I ve found are Ku`ainu burger, and Sasebo burger!! Those two alone beat out McDonalds and MOS.

Also I m currently boycotting McDs for not providing Mayonaise as a condiment for my french fries!!… for a Canadian, thats blasphemy!!!

You should try firehouse in Hongo. I think it is much better than sasebo. More expensive, though.

I saw that place mentioned before on the comments here (It could have been you actually), and went myself to check it out.
It wasn’t bad — certainly far ahead of McDonalds, but I think the price was a little too steep for just being “not bad”, in my opinion.

haha, that probably was me. It is indeed a bit expensive, no doubt about that, but it is the closest thing I’ve had here to the real thing.

Oh my god, they used an American to advertise hamburgers for McDonalds again?
Someone start suing, this is racist, right?

I didn’t really like the Texas Burger. The bun wasn’t very good. Hope the New York burger is a bit better.

And for what it’s worth James, some of your readers do live in Japan and enjoy reading your blog.

Texas burger was just missing the important, it so wasn’t Texas style.

Hope the New York Burger will be better, looks good with the Monterrey Jack cheese and mustard. Burgers with mustard is just right

As a New Yorker, calling a burger with mustard on it a “New York” burger is almost blasphemy – people around here would cringe at the mere thought of it.

Wow tried it, don’t recommend it. Kinda disappointed on this burger.

Been to NYC, missing something here again.
Have eaten burgers in NYC and know for sure they were pretty good. Someone needs to go to NYC in person first before bringing this stuff out to prevent
embarrassment such as this.
Do you sense any ignorance to all of this?
And Mcdonalds anywhere in the world are not quality at all, but must say the fries at least are good over here in Japan.

But the best burgers out there without a doubt! I mean they are definite quality.
