Thanks for the heads up on the images. I think I've solved the problem with them.

I activated intense debate thinking that it would instantly convert the old comments into its system, but it produced a message stating it would take "several hours" before the old comments could be loaded and appear again. If it's not solved by Saturday morning, I'll probably deactivate intense debate and go back to our familiar old comment style.

(I am leaving this comment from a proxy browsing site because my ISP has yet to figure out the DNS change.)

No offense … that was rather funny.

But I have to semi-agree, hiding the low-rated comments on a place of actual debate and discourse isn’t the best idea, I think.
Japan Probe occassionally gets the topic of debate where emotions run high on one or both sides, and if people start rating down whatever they don’t agree with, looking through the debate logs will get tedious as it’s well imaginable that everything will be hidden.

Can we have it so the low-rated comments are not hidden or at least set the show/hide threshold to be much higher?
Ideally, I’d wish for a system that would not hide the comments and show the number of both thumbs up and down votes, instead of showing the sum as one number.

I’ve just upped the threshold to a value I think might work better and set it to show both vote values instead of just the sum.
