Japanese commercial for Norton Antivirus

January 25th, 2010 by James

The latest series of ads for Norton Antivirus feature blogger/idol Shokotan switching to Norton because other antivirus software slows down her computer:

Not as awesome as their 2007 Norton Fighter ad campaign, but probably better at directly addressing issues the viewing audience probably care about.

Hot chick or not, it doesn’t change the fact that Norton’s is the fattest, most bloated, slow running, mediocre, expensive, piece-o-crap on the AntiVirus market EVER!

According to PC Magazine’s reviews, Norton 2009 and 360 are very fast and streamlined.

Big surprise considering how many Symantec ad’s are in PC Magazine.

AVG or Kaspersky are my top picks (although Kaspersky has the SLOWEST update servers I’ve ever used).

The “hot chick” is Shoko Nakagawa and not extremely hot actually.

Also, anything involving Symantec is usually absolute crapware.
Vonskippy is absolutely right, I don’t really see a reason for this to be here, since it’s neither entertaining nor informative at all…

NOD32 is the geek-cred alternative. And it has the advantage of being objectively superior to its bloated competitors.

Also, Shokotan is hotter in her Super Robot Wars cosplays~

Because the pronunciation “u-i-ru-su” originates from Latin, not English or German.

The alliteration probably reads better to native Japanese speakers, but I always see it as “No Stress, No Virus, No Norton.”

Very simple ad actually. Norton 2010’s user-interface has a similar look & feel to last year’s version. However, it builds upon previous versions with several new features such as Norton Download Insight and Norton File Insight which warn of dangerous downloads and files which may be threats. Norton System Insight offers details of your computer’s resource usage so its performance can be improved.

More than 99% of virus infection occurs through cables, so you should wash your cables everyday. You people need to learn how important prevention by individuals is. Stupid!
