McDonald’s Texas Burger

The movie Footloose is apparently set in Utah/Oklahoma, which I suppose is close enough to Texas to make its song appropriate for this McDonald’s “Big America” burger commercial:

I am a fan of the Texas burger but I think they forgot the Jalapeno. With out it it isn’t a Texas burger.

Forgot about that! Yes, you are right. Although I think it would be quite difficult to get Jalapenos in Japan.
Also it might be too hot for the Japanese palette.

I went to Coco ichibanya for the 10 star curry. I had the waitress, the cook, and the supervisor come out individually at a time,just to tell me that “Hey you know its hot are you sure?” which, I promptly replied it would be fine. I was half expecting a phone call from the president of Coco s to tell me it was hot.

anyways, I digress. suffice to say Coco ichibanyas 10 star curry is mildly a 6 or 7 on the “hottest things I ve ever tasted” scale.

Not too bad, about 100 to 150 kcal less then the Angus burgers currently running in the US. Still more then I wish to consume.

The real scary kcal counts come from the likes of the Hardee’s Monster Thick Burger at 1420kcal. Is there something so idiotic in Japan?

Beef bowl restaurant chain “Sukiya” constantly serves 1124kcal “Mega Gyu-don.” Last summer they even offered “Gyu-don King” as a special menu, which was 2248kcal.

I like McDonalds, but this new burger was not eatable. Some kind of third party taste in meat or what looks like a meat, but was not meat. Old stuff is better.

I call on every native or adopted Texan living in Japan to boycott McDonald’s “Texas Burger.” As I am from San Antonio, please indulge me and do a Google search on my all-time favorite, Chris Madrid’s Cheddar Cheezy.

McDonald’s really ruined what could have been a great thing.

I’ll admit, this burger looks pretty darn good from my point of view. yes, it resembles the Big Mac, but it just looks different from most Burger King burgers here in the States. I want to try this….

Interesting, I always thought Footloose was set in Texas, somewhere around Beaumont as I recall, however I can’t find anything to confirm that. Now I am wondering where I got that idea from.
