I mean, 300 metres thats over 3 football fields. It makes the bike steering harder to keep still. That's why most barely make it to the end and then fall. The back end of the floating bridge starts to snake, in turn pulling the front into the sway. That would make it much more difficult to maintain balance. Plus, if you ever have to ride a bike completely different from the one you are used to, you also would have some problems to maintain a perfect balance.
