Shirakawa Village hit by heavy snow

Apparently this year has seen some abnormally high amounts of snowfall in parts of Japan. Here’s a news clip that shows people in Hokkaido and at the Shirakawa Village World Heritage site dealing with all the snow:

okay, where is the global warming that some scientists have
promise us? Many parts of Asia, North America, and Europe
are getting pounded by heavy snow and abnormally-low temps….

I spent 11 years in Hokkaido and loved the snow…
(half of which were in jail)

The global warming is an issue of long term and global tendency. Having several years of relatively cold winters in some local areas on the globe does not contradict 50-year global scale warming tendency. It might be still possible that the global warming is not something to be worried about though…

Global Warming is a misnomer. The better term for it is Global Climate Change.

One of the effects of climate change is that some places will get colder than usual and some places will get warmer than usual.

“Global Climate Change” has always happened on Earth, before humans existed and after we’re gone. The scientists who falsify their data are trying to frighten a gullible public.

Global temperature peaked in 1998 on the current 60-80 year cycle, and has been declining ever since. This cooling absolutely falsifies claims that human carbon dioxide emissions are a controlling factor in Earth temperature.

During the last 100 years, temperature has both risen and fallen, including the present cooling. All the changes in temperature of the last 100 years are within normal historic ranges, both in absolute value and, most importantly, rate of change.

All that article says is that there aren’t enough sensors to measure the supposed warming that would have been measured had there been enough sensors. Pure speculation.

It does not explain away what the actual temperature measurements have actually said.

It does not make any credible argument that human-generated emissions have affected the global climate in any significant way, nor does it even claim that the current climate trends are in any way unnatural or unusual considering Earth’s history.

This planet has been much hotter and much colder than it is now. Climate changes have been dramatic without benefit of human interference for millions of years.

Time to find a new religion, because that one is full of false prophets.

Here is now a place for discussing about the climate and weather!

From what I learned in my junior high school science class… Weather, or more specifically the amount of snowfall, of the winter season in (the main island of) Japan is considered to be largely affected by an air mass resides on Siberia, water vapor from the Sea of Japan, and the geographical features of Japan.
