Yakuza Party

January 3rd, 2010 by James

Remember that photo-less post about the Yamaguchi-gumi Yakuza gang handing out presents to children at a New Year’s Event? Jake Adelstein, author of Tokyo Vice: An American Reporter on the Police Beat in Japan, has been kind enough to send us a photo of a previous year’s event:
gangster celebration

Apologize for the crappy quality of the photo. Mr. T is a reference to Takayama–who was rumored to have died at the end of last year (last year referring to the end of 2008/start of 2009).
I put a comic book filter on it to obscure the source of the photo. Well, you do have the white sweatsuits, which is charming.

Thank you, Jake Adelstein! The photo isn’t crappy, the Yamaguchi-Gumi is just so repulsive it emits radiation.
