Dog bathing suits and bikinis

As we’re getting towards the end of 2009, it’s about time I did some winter cleaning and finish a few posts I initially planned to make several months ago. Here’s one of a fashion show for dog swimwear that was held in Taiwan but was deemed newsworthy in Japan:

P.S. – If you’re in Japan and want to buy wacky clothes for your dog, head to a big shopping mall and look for Pet Paradise. [shop list here]

let me get this straight:

dogs(and cats) are naked 99.99% of the time,
but they need to put on bathing suits and/or
bikinis when they go to the beach or pool? :D :D :D

This is a world-wide phenomenon.

An Indian online news report also treated this:

Fox News seems to have reported this too:

To be precise, the Japanese news clip does not report it as swimwear but just implies swimwear-looking clothing, “bikini” and “one-piece” for dog’s summer fashion.
