Lots of panty shots. ^^ Also lots of 3D, which means not as much of a workload for the animator. Still a nice short film though, although I don't like the break in the visual style between the 2D and 3D shots so much.

That's an interesting point.
Although, it seems that with the advent of the internet, the people on the lowest end of the income scale now have a means to get their more visible to the public, and some are beginning to receive the same level of attention and adulation as the people on the highest end.

Still, apart from a smart few, the attention doesn't usually translate into dramatically increased monetary income, so I guess it hasn't changed all that much yet ...

I think "Fumiko's Crush" would sound natural and convey the light-hearted feel of the clip.

"love profession" lol!

「愛の懺悔」slso sounds like a title from a ロマンポルノ flick。

Maybe he will get lucky. I will scan the streets for lost winning lottery tickets as well.

There seems to be quite a dichotomy really. Or a scale, rather. The worst salaries are paid to people doing what they love, as they would do it anyway. Then you get better money for doing what you don't like, which is most of us. And then the top money is for doing what others love. Sports stars, actors, etc.

I see people saying the guy will do great in the business, and I wish I could agree, but it's a pretty well-known fact that animators in Japan are (recognized to be) one of the most severely overworked and underpaid types of people.
What makes it worse is that the people continuing to work as animators do so only because they love that job, and somehow survive on roughly 1 million yen annual incomes.

For example, what would start out as a project with 50 million yen provided by the sponsors get huge chunks taken out by various middle-men like advertisers and broadcasting stations, until about 10 million makes it to the little studios that actually do the majority of the gruntwork. From there, the going rate for drawings is about a couple hundred yen per frame. If it's 200, then if one gives a herculean effort and draws 500 pictures per month, that's 100 k yen per month, taking up all of one's time. You could even make more working the cash registers at your local 7-11 for a whole month.

Aside from a few exceptions like the people working for Studio Ghibli, most of Japan's anime industry is supported by anonymous people who hand over their body and soul for a job they love, working in appalling conditions.

Well, for kokuhaku, confession is the literal translation. It also could mean admission or profession(not as in professional, but as in a profession of love).
In this case it doesnt really sound like it has religious context
罪の告白- confession of ones fault
司祭に告白に行く- go to confession

Just depends on what kind of honyaku your aiming for

Confession has a somewhat negative connotation, generally speaking. You "confess" to a crime, for example. Or you might "confess" your sins. Confession is good for the soul, or so I'm told, but it brings to mind the idea of unloading or unburdening yourself of something unwanted.

You might rather "express" your love...or perhaps "profess" it.

Confess one's love
admit one's love

these are not uncommon phrases

perhaps proposal is an apt word for this one too

"Love declaration" might be better. To confess has nuances of admitting a fault. However people do "confess their love." That is more common, and perfectly acceptable. "Love confession" perhaps has the same sense in English as "愛の懺悔" might in Japanese....

Don't you say "love confession" in the western world? I'm not sure my self.

Maybe it sounds strange because of the religious meaning behind it.

That was tight, took a page from Miyazaki's Spirited Away when Chihiro goes flying down the stairs and brought it to the next level. I thought they were going to explode when they hit each other at the end though
