		<description>I guess the just wanted to make people more aware of these things and how practical they are, probably the device that was shown was also a new model. Of course the technology behind that is nothing new and such megaphones have been around for quite a while. Maybe this device has a better usability factor. ;)</description>

		<description>Those devices have been along for at least 8 years. That&#039;s when I saw them first on guided tour I took on a vacation. Probably they&#039;ev been here (a lot) longer. Strange for them to presen this as something new, or has it been innovated in some sense? Maybe the audio is directional? I&#039;ve got no clue what they&#039;re saying... 
The &#039;test&#039; in a hallway isn&#039;t too impressive to me: the guy probably could have talked normally and still be heard in a hallway.

The devices with a mic and a speaker (not this particular type though) I saw being used in Akihabara when I was there in July.</description>
