When I say “My nose is tall” in Japanese, it means “I’m proud of it.”
Also “He is a TENGU(a long-nosed goblin)” means “He’s an annoying boaster.”
So I guess the rubber nose is not only to make him look like Harrison Ford, but to joke about him as if he had some special knowledge about crystal.
Am I thinking too much?

Got a feeling that if a famous western comedian used fake giant front teeth and slit eyes in a tv show to impersonate a Japanese, all hell would break loose.
