Maybe injurd criminals don't receive medical treatment in South Korea?
Ok, jokes aside, the story sounds fishy. Either someone messed up big time or he really was announced dead quite some time after he actually died, or there were some complications with his wound.

Get hit in the femoral artery and you're going to exsanguinate rather quickly - from any position gravity is going to hurt you unless a medic clamps it within minutes, as there is no way to tourniquet such a wound.Four hours is an impressive amount of time to stay alive.

Is it possible Korea uses the same rules as Japan regarding pronouncement of death?

In Japan, IIRC, nobody officially "dies" until a doctor says so. Thus all the reports of people falling 15 stories, or getting cut in half by a train, and then being brought to a hospital and only THEN "dying".

He was only level 5 so he didn't have enough hitpoints to withstand gunfire.

That was my first guess too - severed femoral artery leads to death in as little as a few minutes.

No worse than the mindless "let's check out the latest viral videos on YouTube" filler you see all the time on the U.S. news. Hell, filler like this has been around for decades - though the "shock" aspect is debatable.

Really? Is this really how Japan fills out their news? With a "shocking clips" reel that isn't even disguised as something else?

Video isn't loading for me for some reason but it's possible that a bullet may have nicked one of the major arteries in the leg. Can't really explain the "four hours later" part or any other details, but I do know that the right kind of damage to your femoral artery can kill you very quickly.
