Japanese police vs. wild deer

Earlier this week, a couple deer somehow found their way into Sapporo and police tried to stop them:
As you can see from the video, attempts to capture the deer were unsuccessful and authorities lost sight of these particular animals sometime in the evening.

I was going to make a remark about how everyone was overreacting for just a few deers, but a an agitated 3 meter long wild animal equipped with sharp hooves, 50 cm horns and a leap that defeats any normal fence … ok, I can see why everyone is concerned and keeping their distance.
Any wild animal is to be handles with caution, it isn’t for nothing that they are called willed. They live a tough life and is unexpectedly aggressive and full of stamina.
The Wikipedia entry of エゾシカ (Cervus nippon yesoensis) tells
So, a 300cm long male deer can amount to about 200kg. Furthermore, they are in a breeding season just now. The Wikipedia entry briefly describes the history of protection and control of deer and the current situation. People in Hokkaido seem to be spending a difficult time of population control nowadays.
