To be perfectly honest, the guy in the first video managed to surprise me somewhat.

He came off as obsessed without being particularly creepy. I think it is the general assumption I now run on that being a self-proclaimed “anime otaku” almost always implies a certain… sexual component to the obsession. So, his innocence, in this regard, makes his fanaticism… almost acceptable.

He did a fair job repping the American set of Anime fans. Also, like a lot of other events with enthusiasts, you’d be surprised at what kind of people are deep into this stuff. For one such shock to the system, look up Alodia Gosiengfiao(also up there in that Otacool link)

I second the 42 year old virgin comment, but the guy wasn’t a tool or anything and had some pretty cool/valuable stuff, I give him an A for representing, without looking like a tool.

As for the 1 piece guy, he was talking out of his ass, “oh yea I’m thinking of buying a house in Japan, somewhere in Kyoto or Hokkaido”, ookkkayy buddy.
