Aiko undo kai

A video of Princess Aiko, daughter of Crown Prince Naruhito, participating in her school’s Sports Day (undokai) festivities:

The second half of the clip contains footage of Naruhito running in the same relay back when he was 7-years-old.

For some reason, I’m much more pleased that I should be that she gets at least semblances of a normal life like this.

よく走られました、愛子様!

Like to hear what the commentators have to say about the “guts” pose that Aiko-san made, the ones that complained that it is Un-Yokozuna-like for Asashoryu to do after winning a bout. Well if it’s now OK for the “crown” princess to strike the pose does that get him less slack?

”Like to hear what the commentators have to say about the “guts” pose that Aiko-san made, ”

“guts” pose is perfectly all right at the school’s Sports Day, at the Olympic, on the professional wrestling etc. Even Yokozuna could have made “guts” pose outside Kokugikan. But some people want sumo wrestlers to be as solemn and traditional as possible on dohyou(sumo ring)

It looks like the Crown Prince and Princess are just sitting with with the plebs like ordinary (or as ordianry as Gakushuin parents) folk. Surely deceptive, but looks nice.

I’d like to think that the old couple sitting in front of them are secret services with super awesome karate skill.

Is it still taboo to indicate that Aiko was conceived using IVF?

Or, are they still claiming Immaculate Conception?

;)

Immaculate Conception is how the Catholic Church tried to get around the “mother of God” being herself a tainted sinner. It refers to her origins, not those of Jesus. It’s not about how she was conceived, but in what state.
