Stormtrooper does Gatsby dance in Harajuku

Even if you’re not into the whole anime/otaku scene, you’ve gotta admit that Tokyo Stormtrooper Danny Choo has leveled-up his dancing skills since he posted his first YouTube vid:

As some of you out there familiar with Japanese TV may have noticed, this is a parody of Kimutaku’s popular series of Gatsby commercials:

For anyone else who is confused by the idea of “Mandom’s moving rubber” (I can’t imagine I am the only one who thought this was a condom commercial): it’s hair styling gel.

i just realized the perfect man to play spike spiegel. forget keanu… get kimutaku in there. he can MOVE!!! he looks like too skinny and lean… and he’s got the flexibility….. arghhh.

I have always thought the Kimutaku CM is fake aside from a few close-ups of his face. The dancing is suspiciously similar to David Elsewhere’s dance performance that gained him internet fame in 2001:

The same guy did a much better commercial for Volkswagon where they superimposed Gene Kelley’s face over his body, so I dont imagine it would be much harder to use Kimutaku’s pouty, effeminate mug.

I wonder if Kimutaku has claimed it to be authentic.
