The monkeys are reproducing?
Maybe the monkeys could teach the people then how to do it correctly? ;)

The ban seems to be too soft. Why not fine them after one warning? Should be enough.

I think simply cutting off one of the monkeys' major food supplies is inhumane. That will put a strain on what's left for food sources and many monkeys may starve to death. I think a better option would be to start a catch, neuter/spay, and release program on the females. That would successfully limit the potential for them to reproduce in too great a number.

What a load of tosh!!!!! I live near minoo and visit Minoo park regularly.A lot of children like to feed the monekeys..blah blah.. FAIL.
A lot of Japanese ADULTS who should know better like to feed the monkeys and I see it all the time.Quiet often the worst culprit is the adolescent Japanese male who will not only produce food but then taunt the monkey with it as he shows off to his girlfriend..I have seen this happen in Minoo and also on Shodoshima. In one case the bloke was attacked by 6 monkeys and nearly wet himself.
So let's say for sure that the locals don't feed the monkeys (they don't need to,the monkeys take what they want when they are hungry) well that leaves the 1,500 000 tourists.Minoo govt. proposes "4 strikes and you're fined!" ..come on..how likely is it that the tourist will feed the monkeys 4 times after being warned even once?
The signs are there.Instant fines are the only way.The monkeys can be very aggressive and menacing, but it is the stupidity of Japanese people that has made them this way.The monkeys are clever in comparison..if you believe the locals they used to be able to get drinks out of vending machines when the cost was 100 yen...even then I guess people must have been giving them coins to do it.

I thought it might be a good idea if Mino captured the monkeys and spayed them, then released them. They could use the fines they collect to pay for the operations.

The city should make a law making it illegal to feed dumb assembly leaders. Maybe that would cut down on the proliferation of useless bans. The monkeys are already here - easy food or not - they're not going to magically stop reproducing. They'd have better success making a law requiring all monkeys to use little monkey condoms.
