If a cat can get up somewhere, then it can get down from there without help from humans. What a huge waste of resources rescuing something that was purrfectly fine.

Right. That didn’t look like a trapped cat to me. It was perfectly happy sitting in the sun. The balcony was only four feet high: the cat could have jumped down any time it wanted and wander back down the stairs.

I’m half surprised they didn’t scare the cat into hurting itself. I agree this was a huge waste of time and money. Wonder what they will do next time he decides to relax there?

The cat was sitting quietly on the ledge, getting some sun, when a guy on a pole sneks up on it, chases it along the ledge and smacks it off its perch into a fishing net. Poor thing was probably traumatized — which the old woman applauded. Next week, live badger baiting.
