Ichiro ejected!!

Having long been an Ichiro fan, I was amused to find this video of the usually subdued baseball superstar being ejected from a game! Apparently he is the first Mariner to be ejected this season.

Wonder what English he conjured up on this occasion. Please comment your guesses.

Yea i saw this, Ichiro was right… that was a ball, but he definitely in the wrong for drawing the line lol. Must have pissed him off because he’s got a ridiculously good batting average

The more I watch… the more I see that he was right but yeah you have unfortunately to be a little cool about the way you handle things with these umps.

a little cool? how much cooler can you get? all he did was tap the ground. i don’t know anything baseball but judging from that, baseball umpires are power-tripping tossers who can’t take criticism. in no other sport that i know of would that happen…

Baseball has a rule – arguing with the ump over whether a ball was a strike or not is grounds for immediate ejection. Yes, Ichiro was right, the pitch did not cross the plate (it hugged the outside – it was close, but it was a ball). Yes, the ump set a world record speed for pulling his mask off and ejecting a player after making a bad call.

But… there’s this rule, see… it is probably a stupid rule, but it is a known rule. As someone else said on another site “when you draw a line in the dirt, you might as well put an arrowhead on it pointing to the locker room, because that is where you are going.”
