Swallows nest in Japanese bathroom
A video clip of a bathroom in Saga Prefecture where swallows come to roost:
The swallows come twice a year to build nests and lay eggs, and the human family that owns the house is happy to host them. Interestingly, the video makes no mention of all the bird poop the humans no doubt have to clean up before bathing each day.

So a tv personality holding a box of condoms is bad, but a family bathroom full of bird shit is ok? Hard to see how that whole “wacky japanese” stereotype got started.

nope. most japanese houses are build by materials wich cant breathethat means you have to keep the widows open or install the expensive ventilation.

just in case but to have swallows nest on your house is a good omen in Asia. they bring luck. aside that swallows are very clean birds. they dont poop around own nests.

Are they magic birds? Have you ever saw a Swallows nest? There’s bird poop ALL over. Birds are not house broken, nor are the young nest broken. What do you think is on the sticks in the top photo – frosting?

lol. i see you have no idea what you are talking about. we have their nest in our garage for almost 10 years now. i have to clean there only 2 times a month. thats is VERY CLEAN FOR BIRDS. in a fact hey are cleaner than our cat.

Swallows came back to our old house every year.
Yeah they poop a some, but not a whole lot.
They prefer to build nests on white houses.
The fledglings are very cute.
