Ah James, you left Our Man out of the party. He’ll be “liveblogging” as you call it (tweeting with the feed on his website) too from 9pm Abiko Standard Time, 1pm Blighty Time and 8 am Big Apple Time – if he gets the kids in bed in time.

Just hope that it isn’t the same kind of Change Obama has promised.
Because the change he’s bringing in is basically no change, just business as usual!
Congrats on breaking the rule of the LPD. I like the libertarian overtones of the DPJ. Hopefully it works out for Japan.

Dear Americans,
Stop overlaying your damn political system and expectations on Japan and every other country. Liberal = Obama = evil and Conservative = Republican = good does not apply outside of your little bubbles.
Love,
The Rest of the World (incl. Japan)

Hopefully the DPJ can use this win to do something good anyway. I mean last time they had a chance at the country, they spent so much time campaigning against LDP that when they actually got into office because of public disgust at the corruption, a lot of what was spent was campaigning against that party, not formulating sound ideas.
