Well, maguro could always be substituted by panda or koala. Both of them have made a comeback in recent years. But seriously, I think that maybe soylent green made from hippies could be reformulated to taste like maguro.

Why not do something like protest animal rights in China or dogs being eaten in Korea? Maguro can’t thank you like a pekinese can.

I hate hippies. If they were smart, they would all band together, make some super international organization, make tons of money, then spend it to better the planet through fish farms or whatever is the flavor of the month for them.

True – my point is only a general comment about how the market can self-regulate. And if the government steps in and subsidises it to artificially deflate the price then forget it.

That’s fine except the point at which a resource becomes too expensive may be below the point at which it ceases to be sustainable. In which case it makes sense to stop exploiting the resource earlier and allow stocks to regrow.

Of course this is difficult for people to understand, and leads to the tragedy of the commons.
