Poll: Chinese rank Japanese as world’s lewdest nation

An internet poll has found that residents of Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing believe that Japanese people are the world’s lewdest (ecchi):
The United States was in a distant second place, followed by Korea, France, China, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Great Britain, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, Brazil, India, and Egypt.
Searchina’s article about the poll cites the abundance of pirated Japanese adult movies in China as a major influence on the ranking.

The results of this survey are based more on imagined stereotypes the Chinese have of other nationalities. Most Chinese have never met a Japanese and have no idea of what kind of people they are.
The Chinese should do a survey on themselves. Maybe only then will they realise it is they who are ones who treat their own country like a pig’s sty. I’ve spent the best part of five years living in China and walking down the same streets where I see Chinese people spitting, urinating, defecating, and throwing their rubbish away every single day.
If “lewd” refers to sexual deviancy (however one wishes to define that term), then I will admit Japan has a less than perfect reputation, but China is no better. This is the land where women get beaten and the police or bystanders in the street do nothing. This is the land where underage prostitution rings managed by local government officials are found in every town and city.
Maybe this survey is nothing more than a reaction to how many nationalities in the world think of the Chinese …

This is hilarious.
A portion of the Chinese people surveyed think Japanese are lewdest in the world. Yet in same article one reason given is due to the pirated adult movies from Japan available in China.

Though around here (germany) i always get to hear that japanese are a “bit” perverted and anime is only “porn”, i gave up on trying to tell people how wrong or just stuck up they are but yea…
And most people here think that China is a horrible country considering all the wrong stuff going on there (not wanting to offend anyone but thats how i hear it most of the time here).
I rather life in a perverted country then in… China.
Personaly i love Japan and the japanese people i know are all perfectly fine and not more “perverted” then others, just like colorful above said. ^^v

Show me one lewd thing here in Germany.
I think the prejudice here in Germany about the lewdness of Japanese people is mainly because of the media coverage, stories about panty machines, School Girl pornography, “eating sushi from the body of a nude woman”, stuff like that.
Actually, the panty machine came up as a topic during a conversation with some japanese friends. Two of them claimed that they’ve seen such a machine, but they can’t really remember where. ^^ Well, obviously, those things aren’t as common as the local media wants us to believe…

actually, i know why in the 3 cities in china, the chinese gave Japan the biggest points that they are lewd , is because ever since the chinese still carries the “war thing issue” in their spirit. old and young chinese still share the same feelings about the 2nd world war issue and in their school, in their house they are always taught and being remined what the Japanese did to all the chinese people.Yes, you will say some chinese people will show interest with the Jpanese culture and langauge but its always for their own interest coz Japan is the leading Asian country. they want to know why, how the Japanese people became the leading asian country so they have to show interest and they can learn the ways of the Japanese people. but the chinese do that only for their own country but really where ever you go, u meet a chinese person, you never hear that they really honestly like Japan or its people. believe me coz i know..im not chinese but , i know…
