Did some licensing rights for the old dub of Ghost in the Shell run out or something? I was expecting the newer TV show, not the original movie.
Actually this is the dub for Ghost in the Shell 2.0.
Conan is hilarious, as usual (Vroom vroom, party starter!) but Andy Richter is a fat idiot who should be banned from TV.
GitS will never be the same for me. I wonder if it’s a bad thing that I knew all of the correct dialog for those scenes in English and Japanese?
4:37 and onward. Just… awesome.
That was so awesome.
the gag dub should be a recurring bit but I doubt it will happen since you need rights to the anime and nbc universal are cheap bastards.
I found it funny how little the actual people in the studio knew about Ghost in the Shell, or even the plot.
I saw it more as they have worked on so many silly plots that they can’t tell the difference between them.
Where is Pierre Bernard?! WHERE IS THE MACROSS LOVING RECLINER OF RAGE GUY?!?!?!
Conan is amazing, Andy isn’t bad either. Great stuff, I was almost in tears. His show is really underrated.
Funny,
well at least now I know why the English Dub sucks
Yeah, except that this wasn’t an actual dub they were gonna put on the air and/or market. They were just fucking around and experimenting. Dumbass.
Funny clip, though it was indeed quite sad the the studio didn’t know enough about the plot to explain it.
And what’s with the censoring of breasts and buttocks? Oh, those crazy americans!
Interesting, that the new version of GitS gets a new voice-over as well.
The German version had a re-release a couple years ago with a better translation (straight from the Japanese version instead of the English version) and different voice-actors. I wonder if they do a new voice over again for this 2.0 HD version. As far as I know, the timing should be the same. But I didn’t compare the old version and 2.0 side by side.
