Taro Aso gives the Pope a Sony video camera

July 8th, 2009 by James

Prime Minister Taro Aso presents his holiness Pope Benedict XVI with a piece of Japanese technology:

video camera

As his first stop during a trip to attend July 8-10 summit of G8 leaders in Italy, Aso went to the Vatican, gave the pope a Sony digital video camera and discussed the global economic crisis with him.

And, in case your are interested, here’s a video clip of the occasion:

No PM Aso! Don’t you know Sony’s associated with the devil!?

This is quite appropriate. Aso is rich because of POW slave labour, and Pope Benedict is a former Nazi.

Anyways, why is the PM of Japan meeting with the Pope? What benefit could come from this meeting?

Well it benefits him cause Aso is a Christian

Sorry, but Pope Benedict was in the Hitler youth, and so was my Mom btw, and she said all they did was play soccer. That certainly does not make him or her a Nazi, especially since he was in the seminary (studying to be a priest) during the war years, and my mom was just a kid. Educate yourself there, before spouting nonsense.

Aso is a Roman Catholic, and is probably meeting the Pope for personal reasons, besides it being a state visit.

Aso’s family used POW’s, and not him personally. Your accusation is basically saying, he is guilty of the sins of his father. Are you guilty of your father’s sins?

“Are you guilty of your father’s sins?”

Why yes, according to Christian theology. Unto the seventh generation, I believe. Not to mention Original Sin, which you would think would be well past its expiration date by now.

Well many leaders meet with Pope sometimes, plus Aso is catholic so I think he would take advantage of his chance to arrange a meeting.

Don’t forget that the Pope benefits from their meeting, too, hehe.

When I watched the clip and saw the pope’s face I grinned like I always do when I see him, because a genius German cabaret artist said about him: “Did you see this guy? Look at that face! I guess that’s the face you get from loving humans for 80 years!” :D

It’s for one of the Pope’s lesser-known projects: Cardinals Gone Wild.

Hopefully we’ll see some pope-produced videos on Youtube soon. Yeah!

A Japanese leader and a Nazi Pope getting together, what could go wrong with that?

^ Yeah, exactly. What a waste of tax dollars. It’s not like Japan’s going to make much money selling Hondas to the Vatican.

I want to know which Sony model that is too so I can go check it out in Bic.

As for why Aso met the pope remember the State of the Vatican City is a sovereign city state, and the smallest country in the world. That makes the pope a head of state aka Sovereign of the State of the Vatican City, so they are just two leaders meeting.

Bic? I remember buying a sony digital walkman in Akihabara for 300,000 Yen. I saw it a few days later at Ikebukero Bic camera for 450,000 Yen.

Sorry I mean 30,000 Yen vs 45,000 Y (roughly $300 USD vs $450 USD).

What a retarded gift. That’s about as bad as Barack Obama’s gift to the British prime minister of a bunch of American movies on DVD. Not only was it lame to give something that you could order on Amazon, but the discs were region 1 and wouldn’t even play on most UK DVD players. Come to think of it, a Japanese Sony camcorder would be NTSC and wouldn’t work on Italian or Vatican City televisions.
