I have never watched a movie that touched me like this one did. I have seen both versions and love them both. I try to watch them again and I start crying before half way into the movie. It’s just that I know what is going to happen and It breaks my heart. I am a dog owner from way back and still have dogs, I have never had one that was as loyal as HachiKo was.

This kind of pisses me off, if this movie gets any recognition, which it won’t, they’d better be constantly crediting the source of the story.

Hachi! – Gesundheit! ^^ SCNR (hatschi is the sound one makes when sneezing in German)

I didn’t know the true story of Hachi until now, but the trailer immediately reminded me of the Futurama episode ‘Jurassic Bark’. ^^ The probably also based it on the story of Hachi.

Dunno, it is the Japanese trailer for the movie after all. I know it would suck to have to utilize a different language from your own just to watch a movie. That’s the premise of subtitles.

Keep in mind that this movie is called “Hachi” in English, which means that the sequel with the dog’s offspring could be “Hachiko: The Loitering.”

The last thing this wonderful story needs is a predictable Hollywood tear-jerker taking place in America and starring Richard Gere.

And was HachiKO too difficult a name to remember so they had to shorten it to Hachi? I sense some low IMDB scores coming up.

i never though someone would make this movie but i have been waiting for someone to make it since i went to Shibuya in fact when i went the first thing i did in Shibuya was go and see the statue.

I just wonder if Hollywood has figured out a way to slap a happy ending on the story.

Hachiko’s master wasn’t really dead but in a coma or something and comes back years later to find his dog still waiting?

I love how the “teaser” basically told the entire plot of the movie.

I wonder how this script was pitched to the studio? “Benji” meets “Waiting for Godot” in Tokyo?
