so, if a room is used once a day its had a 100% occupancy rate? surely it would make more sense to measure it in hours.

Another reason why its so “popular” is, because of its culturally polite to not disturb the neighbors. Not implying in the “adult” sense, but just in general. Some couples just go there to talk and some go there to unwhine. CNN showed the extravagant leisure items that are usually at a love hotel that most japanese apartments don’t have.

Since Love Hotels charge hourly rates, some rooms are probably being rented out twice or even three times a day by different couples.
